Something weird has happened, is it serious??

The screen all looks weird on my laptop, like all fuzzy in a way, its as if all the settings have been changed where it smooths the font etc...

I was on that Second Life thingy and the graphics are pretty intensive on there, and i noticed a bit of lag, and also for some reason when i typed the letter L it kept logging me off, and my screen seems blurred as if i need glasses!
Anyway i restarted the PC and it hasn't changed it's still the same!

What have i done?? Only had this laptop since last November and it wasn't cheap so i haven't broke it have i

Help me

check the resolution and colour settings have not been altered. Failing that system restore before you put that stupid program on your system

And if you were using Cleartype and may have inadvertantly switched it off/on, check this, it might help:

Re: Something weird has happened, is it serious??

I checked the resolution settings before i posted and it was the same as before, but since i just posted that i did another restart and then the settings were wrong so now my screen looks fine

But i've lost my desktop background...why's that then?

Also, why did it keep logging me off when i typed letter L on it's own?!

---------- Post added at 00:12 ---------- Previous post was at 00:10 ----------

When i checked the settings i didn't know if i was using cleartype before or not so i just turned it on, now that my screen is back to normal it looks different to before so i guess i wasn't using it then after all...

---------- Post added at 00:12 ---------- Previous post was at 00:12 ----------

Also, why would Second Life have made my PC change it's resolution settings?!

Re: Something weird has happened, is it serious??

Because some games force a resolution change so that the graphics display the way that the games company want them to. Logging off when a key is pressed may point to something silly like inadvertant activation of sticky keys etc.

you probably had something resting on the Windows key on your keyboard, that will lock your pc.

It wasn't locking it it was totally logging off, i did think it might have something to do with the Fn keys that key and the windows key were clear and not stuck.
Ah well, as long as my lappy isn't on it's way out i'm happy

Re: Something weird has happened, is it serious??

ooooooh thanks! That's even worked on my CRT monitor. That's wonderful..I was beginning to get quite worried about my eyesight.

So missing my 7 am flight has proved to be of some benefit if only a tiny one..

sorry no pun intended.
