"Jittery" video on VM Cable TV?

Recently had broadband/ phone/ tv installed and have noticed a somewhat strange issue which seems to be more noticeable some times (and maybe even some channels) than others.

It almost seems as if motion is not particularly smooth: it can be seen when people's heads move or turn and seems to be particularly noticeable on BBC channels.

I've called VM and they led me through the predictable "are your cables plugged in correctly" and re-start the box etc but it's not sorted it.

Any help/ pointers gratefully received as always.

Happens to me on and off. No rhyme or reason to it.

Re: "Jittery" video on VM Cable TV?

Cheers for your replies.

It's a bit odd and either only seems to happen on certain channels or is more noticeable there. VM man coming out next Saturday so hopefully it will be sorted then.

Noticed this happened more on Samsung 2110 boxes than Pace boxes, used to happen to me, hasnt since the virgin epg was rolled out here....

As the others say just change the channels..... and it fixes, not much an engineer can do as if they cant see the problem how are they going to fix it?

Have done that but it doesn't make any difference: the fault is still there when you return.

Re: "Jittery" video on VM Cable TV? A follow-up

An engineer arrived this morning. He began to fit (I presume an attenuator) to the back of the box and said he needed to check the signals. After putting the box into engineering mode, he soon confirmed that the signals were "all to cock".

He checked the cabling to the rear of the property and soon returned to confirm it was ok and would need to check the cabinet(s). At this point he said he may or may not be able to solve this but may need to get the network team around. He said he would pop back in and let me know what was what. His van then vanished and after a while I gathered he'd legged it and not even had the decency to tell me what was happening; not to mention leaving the box in engineering mode.

I called VM at lunchtime and after 35 minutes on the phone to VM faults I was promised that someone from the network team would call me back. It's now just after 4pm and guess what? No return calls from VM.

Theirs REALLY is a reputation well deserved. This in addition to my other issue (see my other post) will probably explain why I am yet another in a long line of people seriously pi**ed-off with VM
