which router for the 20 meg connection?

Hi all

I have a 4 port belkin router wired ( f5d5231-4 ) which is definatly slowing down my connection, when i go from the ntl modem straight to my pc the speeds are very very good ( 17 meg ) but when i plug the router in and share with my missus pc im lucky to get anything over 7 meg.

Anyone got any recommendations as to what router would be good for the 20 meg speeds?

Wireless would be good and im not too concerened if the wireless isnt lighting fast but id like the wired side to be fast.

Do some speed tests, then,

Go to security log under fire wall and post back what it says.

You are indeed correct.

However a Version 1,2,3 or 4 WRT54G will equal a WRT54GL.

And the S version has even more RAM.

Those are the routers that are good for DD-WRT aren't they?

Not played with DD-WRT yet have played with the routertech and acorp firmwares on a dlink router before though.

Yep, those are the routers that are good for DD-WRT. Although if you want to fiddle a Version 5 WRT54G will handle DD-WRT Micro just fine, which is fab

Sorry about this, i forgot to add, you also have to show me what it says on the firewall log also.

Just repeat the steps you took before but also include the firewall log which is underneath security log.

If you did do that then sorry, im not sure what the problem his.

I had the same problem and contacted belkin and they told me to do it and i got this -
