More repeats, says BBC

Quote:
Repeat programming will have to increase on the BBC as a consequence of a below-inflation licence-fee settlement, the corporation’s bosses said yesterday

Re: More repeats, says BBC

Article is junk. No real information other than targets previously set to reduce repeats may not be met. Even repeats on the BBC tend to be for more watchable than 90% of the junk on 100's of other channels.

I can't see the problem, the titles give a good description of the content, the BBC isn't supposed to become less ratings orientated as stated by the BBC Trust!
BBC Three and BBC Four are the two best things to happen to TV in a long time, innovative original programming and some excellent older programming from the archives. like The Avengers. BBC Three is like BBC Two was years ago before the gardeners moved in and BBC Four like CH4 before idiotic nobodies became famous for no reason other than being famous (and idiotic).

LOL read the article and look at the boss' salaries, a 19k pay drop - oh well I guess his £437,000 salary will have to stretch a little further - he may have to cancel his Sky Movies subscription!

Scrap the licence, let advertising pay for it.

I sent them a copy of last years cheque for my licence fee, when they questioned it I told them "it's a repeat"!

Re: More repeats, says BBC

Yes i agree it is time to get rid of the licence fee but tbh i would settle for being able to somehow block all bbc content and then be exempt from the licence fee. I watch maybe 20-30 mins a week of bbc stuff so don't feel it is fair i pay as much for the licence as someone that watches hours and hours of it.

The licence fee isn't only television, it includes BBC radio as well.

Re: More repeats, says BBC

I only mentioned TV as i never listen to radio of any type. Yes i know i am being personal specific but isn't that what our leisure time is supposedly all about now.

Well thought out argument, ITV, Channels 4 & 5 and SKY would disagree with you though and I hate to think what the schedules would look like
