Re: Muhammad is No 2 in boy's names
I went to school with a boy called Russell, nothing wrong with Russell unless your surname is Sproat. Must say some thing about the level of education at the school because he was given the nickname brasica.

We had a William.Ankers in my unit.
Think about it
He did go by the name of Bill so it took a while for some to catch on

Actually, two of them are Williams, so it's not quite that bad.
As for poor old Muhammed, he's a bit outnumbered by the Biblical crowd, of course. I wonder if they did similar mergings with Ibrahim/Abraham, which are the same name?

Had the same kind of thing at one of my previous employers; one of the directors was called Bob Saul - it was only after he received a letter with his full first name on it (Robert) that the penny dropped.
His parents really didn't think ahead, did they?
Take the initial of his full first name, then pair it with his surname

Yup - why didn't they add up all the Johns, Jacks, Ians, Iains, Seans, Owens, Eoins, Evans, Ewans, Euans, Shauns, Shawns, Johnnies - and that's just the British versions.
Probably wouldn't have made a good inflammatory article, though

What I find interesting is that the 3 reponses shown at the bottom of the article are from people in the US, and showing a knowledge of Islam and the Bible that is unbelievably lacking!

I used to know a James Bond.
At school, I remember Iftika Din and Anna Saltza If they married, she'd be known as Anna Din.

My friend's boss was called Richard, he was Head of a school, and lived up to both his name and position.
