I wonder why Jack wants to go back and why Ben didn't want them to leave? Also who was it that saved them if it wasn't Pennys boat and if they all did get saved?
Can't wait for season four!

Jack seems to have no purpose and no friends/family left. Ben made a reference to that in the show as well.
Ben, I guess, doesnt want the island to be found/discovered/know about. The island still has crazy, odd stuff happening and they like it. Outside world is a danger. This has been hinted at a lot of times before.
But in this case I am guessing that the boat is not their savour, and is another group of bad guys. Ben knows this, and next season may start with a conflict and the others and survivors working together. Either way they need to fill 3 seasons so they have not been saved yet
Or was it that JUST THIS LAST ONE was a Flashback and the others a flashforward?
That makes no sense - to me - as the two of them show no indication of knowing each other before they got to the island, the scene at the end of the runway at the airport must be in the future?
And some of the scenes must be flashbacks. Sawyer / Locke / Daddy for example must have happened pre island.

Jack on two occasions in the flash forwards talked about his dad being alive!? Also i wonder who was in the coffin? At first i thought Ben because no one had been to see him but then i thought it might be a bit too obvious, maybe it's a new charachter? Also Jack kept on being reffered to as a hero, was that to do with saving the woman or for saving the people on the island?

What I am saying is, that in this last episode all the FLASHBACKS were actually FLASHFORWARDS, just in this episode.
All the previous episodes have been flashbacks. Since Charlie is dead, so his Flashbacks must have been flashbacks not flashforwards!!!

Something that i found out which is strange is that the funeral parlour that Jack visits was called Hoffs/Drawlar which is an anagram for flash forward.
And apparently the scrap of paper Jack had when he was going to the funeral parlour said :-

I don't know who John Lantham is, maybe a new charachter, but the only person who has a teenage son is Michael
The whole part with Jack's father not being dead was just to show how wacked-out on meds and alcohol he was (he was deluded or forgot his father is dead and the other doctor didn't want to remind him). This was a flash-forward (note the Motorola KRZR phone he uses which came out in October 2006 whereas the island portions of the show take place in 2004). Also, the name of the funeral parlor he goes to spells out "flash-forward" if you scramble the letters.
Looks like we'll have to wait till season 4 bit of a crap ending IMO.
