Can this router do 20mb? and Modem levels

I did I downloaded the manuals from there

yep, the 10BASE-T, RJ-45
and the old and slow CPU nails it for me, it will be slowing you down for sure.

just get a new one and check the spec as i outline, more ram and faster CPU will always be the better option as it will be able to compensate for encyption and all the other options you really want today, the 3rd party firmwares are better than the originals and give you more/extra options should you wish to go down that route one day so get a router that can take them.

i cant be bothered but it should be easy enough to go find a BOM for it and check the net chip/SOC the WAN is wired to and sus it that way for sure if its really bugging you i supose.

or just open it up and look OC..

thanks for the help, so should be thinking about a new router then, I'll check what happens after the upgrade first of all, then all i need to do is find a wired router =/

or the 2nd net-card in the best PC set as master is still the cheap but effective option if you are willing to keep it on for the other machines in the LAN.
