Question strange problem with router

Hi, ive had the Asus WL-53OG Router for over a year now its been working fine, but after 2 months VM took over its messed up, when i plug in the usb wireless stick into the laptop or my other desktop computer, the little computer appears down at the bottom right and it searches and connects fine, so everything is normal as before, says status connected, speed 54.0 Mbps, signal strength excellent, but when i try my explorer now its saying internet explorer cannot display the webpage ive tryed couple webpages and theres nothing, ive also tryed yahoo messenger and msn messenger but nothing as well, on the explorer i tryed the (diagnose connection problems) and this is what came up...

Windows cannot connect to the internet using HTTP, HTTPS, or FTP. This is probably caused by firewall settings on this computer.

Check the firewall settings for the HTTP port (80), HTTPS port (443) and FTP port (21)

But i disabled my firewall on the laptop and its still the same, my other desktop computer dosnt have a firewall and the windows one is disabled and it says the same for that so im pretty much clueless, ive restarted the router, unplugged the modem restarted the main computer and the other 2, the main computer that i run the router on has a norton firewall but i disabled that also still no change i dont even think its a firewall problem to behonest i feel its whatever VM has done.

Any help would be great.

Thanks in Advance

I don't know, this might aid your search, but my BELKIN router loses connectivity via Port 80 (HTTP - and no other port) and needs a reboot to regain connectivity.

Re: strange problem with router

have you tried a hard reset on your router? there should be a little button on the rear just press and hold it for 30 seconds release and then power cycle the lot. Turn off pc turn off modem turn off router. Turn on modem allow to settle turn on router allow to settle turn on pc. Is the router connected via ethernet to the pc? if so browse the routers set up pages and set up your wireless and security again if you lost your docs to get into the router simply press start and run type cmd a box will open type at the promt ipconfig /all
Type the default gateway address into you browser and your pages will come up. User name and password will be a combo of any of these words for user name user, root, admin or blank and the password will be user, root, admin password or blank hope this helps

Re: strange problem with router

It's not clear (to me) if the problem is only with the wireless connected kit, or with the ethernet connected computer as well. Could you clarify, please?
