How old are they?

try ceebies / cbbc & other cartoon based kids tv channels

My niece loved them.

Re: kids demos

Mine always play on www.miniclip.com when they come round. I activly encourage both (11 and 8) to use the computer as it is a skill they are going to have to use to be successful in life. both can use word and powerpoint fairly well and can email, surf (under supervision).

Errrmmm no they teach puters at what I consider too young of an age at school.

My niece (only 6) comes up to me asks me if she can use my laptop.

I say ' sorry love this is for adults and not for games '

She says ' I use a laptop in school, I know windows blah blah blah '

I say ' Do you know how to use fluxbox under linux and how to patch a linux kernel - show me where the start menu is (there isn't one) now go get lost '

So you got a letter asking for permission.... Hmmmm that seems silly as most parents would accept and so for those poor kids left out it must be a real mare especially when all the kids are playing with those lovely glossy shiny things.

Hmmmmm its gonna be a tricky ride for me isn't it
