sound icon

i have a hp 6120 lappie when i start up all the icons in the system tray are there but the sound icon is not i have to go to control panel/sound and untick show icon in task bar then apply and then re-tick it and apply then it is back this does not happen every time i start up but it is doing this now more often

Is it the standard volume icon or an installed driver linked icon? Kellys corner is always a good place to look for help on registry issues etc and you can trust the vbs files that are linked to there.
