It hasn't failed me...like the other ones

Q-Tec are fine for low-end systems. Once you start requiring power for a good gfx card, they can't handle it. They either explode, or like the one I had, cause random reboots due to not being able to supply enough power.
And that was a Q-Tec 500W (!) with a GeForce FX5950 Ultra.

Btw Zingle, when I mentioned that, I didn't mean that was my computer. It's much better than that

I know but previously you said this

I heard they use fuhjyyu as well, so be careful.
Sirpingalot, i can't believe you put a bomb in the poor boy's PC! He's only 14 Would he cope with his PC going boom, as I suspect it will...
People say there are three certainties in life - life, death and taxes. If you have a Q-tec PSU (or an emachines / eboom), there are four: life, death, taxes and PC go boom.

Oh no, he now has a quality power supply. It's me with the rubbish one.
Oh, and Zingle...yeah, my computer isn't too powerful - I was misunderstood - thought you thought I had an even worse computer than the one I do.

The one I'm using right now. The one that could blow up any second and put me off the forums for life.

Re: I'm laughing so hard!
I just bunged in a Seasonic S12 600watt runs my 7900GT just fine and my AMD Dual core rig
Although my upgraded 7950gt may get that 250watt dedicated psu just to be safe.

I just hope you have an extinguisher to hand for the inevitable. Preferably the time tomorrow to get a PSU and not controlled dynamite.

A 600W Q-tec is as good as a 300W FSP.
IIRC, Q-tec are banned in finland because they are classed as a safety risk.
Buy a fire extinguisher. You'll need it.

I bought a shiny new qtech power supply (when i didn't know any better) 600 watt job plugged it all in powered it up, and result 2 dead 300 gig drives and one dead power supply. Had a hell of a job sorting that lot out. Never ever will i let one of those power supplies anywhere near my comp. Replaced it for a hyper modular worked excellent and still going strong.

Now normally I'd say it was because you'd set it up wrongly, but seeing as it's a Q-ShTec I'd differ.
Their ineptness knows no bounds - and i suspect the new drives had to be replaced out of your own pocket, too.
