NTL + Linksys wrt54gs v6
Hello there,
First off i would like to start by saying i am a pretty low end user. AKA complete noob pls remember that if u post :d
Ok my isp is NTL i have the 2mb package with the ambit 51000 cable modem, currently using it with my Linksys wrt54gs v6 router.
Before i started using my router i used to be able to change my public ip address (i think this is my WAN IP?) simply by doing an ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew.
That still works for me, but not when i am using my linksys router, i continually get assigned the same ip. If you guys know how i can get a new ip for my router i would be very grateful!
2 hours of google searching and the only answer i could find which was relevant was to turn off my router and modem, then turn on the modem letting it fully boot, then turn on the router. Which was supposed to give me a new public IP address, but it didnt work. I tried tinkering with my router's settings but i didnt have a clue what i was doing and ended up having to restore factory defaults.
