Signed to Talk Talk

My mum has just signed us up to Talk Talk plan 3, with their free broadband.

We're still going to keep Virgin Media Broadband, because there is no way im going to stop paying for it to go with Talk Talk.

Im going to pay £37 to VM and my mum is going to pay £20 for the phone and broadband.

What i wanted to know is, how good is their service, broadband, telephone etc...?

Erm.... is it too late for her to get out of the contract http://talktalkhell.wordpress.com/

Three friends all in different areas have had nightmare experiences with Talk Talk. So much so, they each talked me out of signing up with them.

My friends complained about very little internet connectivity and if they used the phone whilst on t'internet - they got knocked off

Re: Signed to Talk Talk

I don't really care for the internet to be honest, since im going to still be using VM, and you get Talk Talk broadband with it anyway.

Just as long as the phone quality is as good as BT, thats all that matters.

Re: Signed to Talk Talk

From looking at VM web site your mom could save money by combining your BBI to her telephone. Phone XL and talk international and BBI is much cheaper than your 2 services with VM and talk talk..
By the way BBC reported talk talk say will be the end of this year before problems resolved with services. WOW And people moan about waiting 3 days for service tech..LOL

Re: Signed to Talk Talk

A good friend of mine had Talk Talk and had nothing but problems with them. He ended up back with BT after about 6 months of endless hassle from TT.

Re: Signed to Talk Talk

All my relatives that have talktalk are happy with their service apart from one, who claims the internet is too slow. [much less than advertised]. My mate tells me that they wont put him onto 8mb LLU, but his 2mb is fine!

So basically the PHONE is near perfect, but the internet is a bit hit and miss.

Re: Signed to Talk Talk

My mum doesn't want to go with their phone service, because we previously, about 2 years ago had ntl phone and had a lot of problems with it.

As long as TalkTalk phone service is good, thats all that matters.

Understand you concernes.. You can talk to VM with regard to previous problems. A pre install visit can be arrainged so engineer can talk to mom. If repull or work on cab required this can be done prior to install.
Ask talk talk for pre install visit. Once you have spent 5 minutes telling them what this is and they saying OHHH we do not do this as BT own lines You may get insite in Talk Talk customer services.

Thanks.

Do TalkTalk come and fit the modem and all that? i dont want them to start fiddling with the VM cables and modem in my room. I wont be here, only my mum and she wont know what they're doing.

I have never spoke to any one who has ever seen a talk talk engineer. As far as I am aware they send the equipment and you fit it. Any probs they send more filters, and if this not work they then blame BT..LOL
