reading the article about who become no 1 in the pole
i do not understand how BT got no 1 above cable/virgin it doesnt make sense
i mean BT has usage limits and CAPS virgin/cable is unlimited and also comes
with free access to newsgroups unlike BT.
Also BT is alot more expensive and for far less speed and restrictions than
cable or virgin
how is it possible people can be happier with LESS for their money than more.
I would still say that most of the country have BT phonelines, so when they decide the want ADSL they get it from BT. As not everyone uses it alot, some use it just for email. So when they are asked if they are happy then they will say yes.
I believe the "survey" wasn't statistically weighted i.e. number of callers vs number of subsribers. Thus BT who have a wide coverage could easily beat the split coverage of ntl / telewest / virgin ADSL. On the other hand given that Virgin's ADSL penetration based on customer numbers isn't massive, it suggests the Virgin ADSL was punching above it's weight.
