Yet another request for a remote code

Hi all - I know the forum is inunndated by these requests, however I am having problems.
I have a Samsung PS42D5SX tele, and the new Virgin V+ box.

Can I get the remote control codes to work ? - No chance.
I have tried just about every posting I can find for help, but am not making any progress.

So, can anyone help me, and post the correct code please.

Much obliged

Geoff

Re: Yet another request for a remote code

I know the engineers know a code that might work.

It did on my Wharfdale.

Maybe someone will come and tell us.

Re: Yet another request for a remote code

First of all try the on-line help on the V+ box.
This will give you a 4 digit code the is supposed to allow your V+ remote to control the volume of your tele.
Hold down the Volume + and Mute keys for 3 seconds, and a red light will flash on the remote.
Then use the number pad to enter the 4 digits.
After each digit you will get a red light - if the remote accepts the code, then you will get a double light at the end.
You should then (in theory) be able to control some of the functions of the TV with the V+ remote.

However, not all codes work !

If the codes on the V+ box don't work, then the search begins .......

Good luck - it's taken me over a week to find mine !

On your V+ box go to Home, then go to Help & Info. Once you go on that go to option 8 about your remote. Then go on the first box about codes and TV makes.

Re: Yet another request for a remote code

Not sure about the location this post should be in,
but because of the amount of times "Remote Code" requests come up,
would it be an idea to have this "Remote Code" as a "Sticky" ?

Re: Yet another request for a remote code

Anyone had any joy with a remote code for a Yamaha YSP800 - it'd be nice if I could control the volume on that with the V+ remote

Thanks for that, I forgot about my request for a code; I actually tried my Sky+ code a day after posting that, and it worked. The code that I'm using is '0065'- the 'problem' is, it *only* controls my TV's volume(/mute)- unlike the Sky+ remote, which controls channel changes and standby. I tried your code, and it works with my TV also- but again, only the volume. (Perhaps it's a limitation of the V+ romote control?)

So I still have to use my Sky+ remote for putting the TV into standby mode. :/

Thanks again, I meant to post here to say that I had resolved it (plus the code)- hopefully this will help others...
