need a new cable enabled phone
My crapo betacom landline phone which has gone duff yet again losing me work...The answer phone bit works but the ring doesn't.Of course being 'in' all week I've not been using the answer phone...
So anyone got any suggestions for a replacement that doesn't cost the earth, will last longer than 2 years and will work with VM and is an answerphone as well.Simple is best because I'm not into all the call waiting and crap like that.I just want a reliable phone that LASTS.

Re: need a new cable enabled phone
afaik any 'normal' phone that will work with BT, will also be fine with VM, so it is just a case of choosing one which suits in terms of price, aesthetics, etc ?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=sr_st/...rice&x=10&y=13
for some examples

 np
We have used our VM (original Diamond Cable then NTL) phone lines with both wired phones and portable phones, as well as an answer machine, with no problems at all.
I'm not sure if some of the things like caller display are 100% compatible across all combinations of phone/cable area, though, but you said you weren't worried about those options

Re: need a new cable enabled phone
Mother back in Peterborough has VM for all services and uses a standard phone, nothing special, no whistles or bells.
How about something like this?

Looks good but I think I'll avoid cordless...I know the members of this household only too well.
