PIN Activation

My box is not currently allowing me to watch recorded programs, its shows error code 1019 and a quick call to Faults has not resolved it!

Has anyone experienced this? They have warned me that this may take up to 4 Days to resolve!!!

Re: PIN Activation

If the problem is that you have not yet activated your PIN code, then you need to phone Customer Service: activation is done by them.

Re: PIN Activation

Initial symtom: not asking for a PIN, just telling me to phone up for activation with error code 1019. Some OnDemand and some V+ saved content, usually paid or subscription based OnDemand (included in XL package).

Phoned again, activation didn't work. Told me again that the pin was 0000. but was puzzeled why i couldn't type it in. Now thinking back the engineer set the box to 1234.... so luckily i watched him operate the engineers menu...

In engineers menu: guess what, even though the saved pin read 0000, possibly a default like **** i don't know but i edited it and saved over the top 0000.

All working now. Chimps! its a good job i'm a techy type person myself. Admins at Virgin, add this symtom to the auto scripts that the CS chimps read. - I know not everybody is technically minded - but seriously how many other engineers are installing boxes with wrong PINs?

Glad its all sorted,

Disclaimer: The engineers menu isn't a toy, can stop your service from working if you naff it up.

Re: PIN Activation

I see you can change the PIN for blocking programmes, but is there any way to change the pin for emails?
