Newbie Help
Hi everyone
Just want to say this forum has been invaluable for info for me so thanks.
Anyway,
I'm a complete noob to cable as I've had Sky for about 6 years. However, I'm moving to a newly-built apartment where the whole block has cable already installed so I have to go with VM.
A few questions though:
-Any idea how long wait for installation is? (Brighton area)
-If I get VM phone, can I use the phone (as in hanset) I've got now on a BT line?
-Is it possible to plug the modem into my router?
Thanks for your help and apologies if any questions have already been asked.
Dan

1. Not sure
2. Yes
3. Yes if the router is not a ADSL router.
Post the make and model here and we can check for you.

Re: Newbie Help
Installation will depend on workload of the engineers - you'll need to check with Customer Service when you book. As a guide, I ordered the V+ box at the end of February, and asked for a Saturday installation - the first date was 10th March. Midweek it could have been done sooner, that was my choice.
Telephone - yes. No problems, assuming it's tone dial like most are now?
There are different ADSL and Cable routers. Most people on here like the wireless routers - Linksys WRT54G always gets good reviews and it's about £40 or so from PC World at the moment.

Re: Newbie Help
Off the top of my head, not sure what the model is but it's Netgear. Thanks for your answers and I'm looking forward to what deals they will be able to offer me tomorrow morning :-)
Thanks again
