Angry v+ not working please help

hi we had v+ fitted yesterday and we are told by the engineer to wait 2 hours and then we would be able to use the v+ well that didnt happen 2 hours passed then we phone virgin media to say that v+ isnt working every time we push the v+ button it says you are not subscribed to v+ and when we push the red record button we get v+ is unavailable please try later, so the faults department sent some new signals and told us to wait 20 mins and then it would work which we did only it didnt work so we phoned again the faults department this time( different man) didnt seem to know what to do and said we would need an engineer to come and sort the problem the only problem is the next available engineer is next tuesday and if we werent in then we would get a £10 callout charge!!!!!! im so cross has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know how to fix it !!!!!!!!! (maybe i should get jim to fix it for me!) bet he would do a better job then virgin media!!!!!

Re: v+ not working please help

I feel for you. We had v+ installed 6/03am (1 week late),told it would take a few hours to have all services, it took 3 1/2 days (told up to 4). Foned 150 to yesterday evening told them we had had enough and were leaving, problem sorted in 5 mins. Might be worth a try. Good luck, let me know how you get on

Re: v+ not working please help

Call faults again and you will probably get someone that knows what to do to sort it.

Are you getting an error code, such as 2001?

Re: v+ not working please help

V+ access hasnt been activated.
CS should be able to sort it BUT it will depend on who you get.
If you get someone who wants to help ask the to send it to 2nd line in Swansea to sort.

Means the box is on the wrong outlet, you need to call customer services, they should sort it out in a couple of minutes, it's something they need to do on the computer at their end, no need for an engineer to visit.

Re: v+ not working please help

so why did they tell me they would have to send an engineer out. when i spoke to CS i told them the 1st guy was helpful but the 2nd guy was just not interested. she said she had the logs in front of her and that both the other people i spoke to originally had followed all of the procedures and as it still wouldnt work the only solution was to send out the engineer. why tell me that if it something that can be dealt with on a computer???????

Re: v+ not working please help

This is definitely a CS issue and is sorted over the phone. It has been covered before on other threads but basically call CS and insist on speaking to V+ faults, if they don't sort it speak to the supervisor. Also you probably still have you're STB, make sure it is switched off when they are sorting you're V+.

Re: v+ not working please help

I have exactly this problem. V+ installed last Tuesday, been on the phone to Virgin Media faults and customer services many times. They have sent numerous signals to the box and I have rebooted dozens of times but it still says "not subscribed to V+". Another problem is that I've lost most of my channels and only get the very basic BBC, ITV Ch4 etc on the V+ box. I now understand that there may be a network fault in our area and that the problem should resolve itself soon.

Re: v+ not working please help

would you believe it - called 150 again and told them what i had read on here and the lass told me that she would see what she could do. after approx 5 mins she told me that the signals were all being sent to the box corrrectly but the 2 boxes we have (v+and stb) were both connected together rather than being seperated (should be box1 and box2 on the system supposedly). Swithched off box a couple of times and she re-booted from her end and hey presto - success!!!!!!

WHY COULDNT THIS HAVE BEEN DONE THE 1ST TIME???????????????????

i really hope other people dont have to go through this - simple error but 3 different explanations from people who do this for a job - not a great start to my v+ experience
