Help With Setting Up New Router?
Hi,
I just bought my brother a BT Voyager 2091 Wireless ADSL Modem Router and Wireless PCI Card.
Right now he already has the BT Voyager 210 set up and working fine for him.
The main thing is we never got an installation cd with the new router, so what I want to know is:
Can we just unplug the old one and plug in the new one and itll work fine since hes already got BT installed on his computer?
or
Does anyone have a working link to the setup files for the BT Voyager 2091 Wireless ADSL Modem Router?
Look forward to a reply.
Cheers,
Rowan

Re: Help With Setting Up New Router?
Connect to router via enet cable then Open a command prompt and type ipconfig /all the default gateway is your router ip. Type this into a web browser when asked for a username and password try the usual suspect ie admin and admin, admin and password, user and password etc you will then get into the config of the router. There may well be an easy set up route in there where you add your username and password (the same as is on the pc) it should all be obvious. By rights the router would have set itself up when plugged into phone line so all you need to do is add details, Then there will be a wireless tab click that and enable wireless then click security and select wpa passkey and input a memorable password. That shoudl be the router done. Now with the wireless adapter install that on whatever machine following the instructions when you get to scan for wireless it should find your router and just conenct and add the password.
Tip change default username and passoword of the router set up pages

Re: Help With Setting Up New Router?
Thanks m8,
My bro is gonna phone soon so I can guide him through it over the phone.
Just hope it works out easy lol.
Were gonna do the PC over wireless with the wireless pci card, and connect his Xbox 360 Live via the ethernet cable port

Re: Help With Setting Up New Router?
Ok so basically, his setup just now is:
Voyager 210 -- Ethernet cable to PC for internet, and nothing for USB
What we do is switch the 210 with the 2091 and use the ethernet cable for the PC still.
Then open CMD and type ipconfig /all, find out the gateway, type that into Firefox/IE to open Router Setup.
Then go to Wireless, enable it, give it a password for connectivity, and done.
Then install the PCI Wireless card, unplug the ethernet cable, and the card should pick it up from the router?
Is this correct?

you will have to add your bt user details as the router should be always connected. Why pray tell did you choose that router?
oopps me bad they do have instruction in OPedantics list. I am a typical man and just do it I rarely read the book when setting up a net connection so I just go through what I do but if you can download the cd then that will be easier
