VM - train your engineers and give them boxes!

Our engineer yesterday admitted he'd had next to no training on the V+ and is learning on the job. Don't know if they have thought about it, but if all their engineers were allowed boxes at home they'd get used to the issues that we are dealing with!!

Very good idea - but unfortunately it comes down to how much time Virgin are prepared to put in making sure that their field engineers and install teams are fully up to scratch on the equipment. Next to no training doesn't inspire confidence in a customer as to the product's reliability or service levels.

However, as can be seen from various threads and comments across this site it seems that its still hit and miss if you get someone thats on top of their brief. A repaint on the vans and new uniforms don't make a ha'porth of difference if staff don't have full knowledge of what they're doing - and thats as true for Customer Services as for field staff.

Personnaly i think engineers should have to have the full range on vm services in there household.

And should be made to go on courses, often as poss.
