DVD Recorder with HDD?

My question is, is it worth paying more for a HDD recorder when I already have a V+ and just want to back some recordings.

The only benefit I could see was editing out adverts, but from what I've read most recorders don't do the job as well as a PC.

Otherwise I was looking at something like the LG DR175 or the LiteOn DD-A500GX, the later has a HDMI connection.

Any thoughts?

If all other things are equal then I would go for the HDMI one as it will upscale and give a better picture than a scart connection. Certainly, if the unit incorporates a CD (like my Panasonic) then definitely go HDMI.
