Massive Area Now Down

News just in for anyone reporting missing channels 101, 102, 107, 110 and 516. This seems to be affecting everyone in the Surrey area, currently being reported to surveillance.

There are technical problems, will give more information shortly.

For BBC channels, programmes are still available on regional bbc channels.

I'm getting the picture disappear momentarily, but not in the same area - is that related to the same problem above?

By the way - thanks for the info!

Thanks for the info, I live in Surrey and have lost these channels and Sky Moves. I now have just got the channels back but have lost the V+ functionality.

Does anyone know if this is all linked to the loss of services in Surrey. Sorry to be a pain, but getting no where talking to the Indian Call Centre. Most of them don't even seem to understand what a v+ box is.

Same problems, thanks for the info...
Have another though - do you all get a cut out of all TV services in the Surrey area at 18:58 exactly? Happens everyday? Why?

PS:: Kellargh as a VM employee why do you have Sky HD?

Or indeed BT and Talk Talk. Are you not in a cabled area or are you trying to tell us something?

Smile Re: Massive Area Now Down

Have spent many hours on the phone this morning to Virgin. Apparantley Surrey fault is fully fixed and should not occur again. However they couldn't tell me what the problem was. As for my V+ problems this was caused by the Indian Call Centre last night un-pairing my box and my card. Not quite sure how they did it. But it took about 5 different customer service reps to sus how what they had done and correct it.

Big learning curve for me this - I will not bother to report any V+ faults to India. One of the CS Reps in Manchester indicated that they regularly have to unpick the mess created by the Indian Call Centre.

Oh well at least it is all working for now.

Re: Massive Area Now Down

Thanks for the info. I'm in a different area (Cheshire) but experiencing channel loss - we've noticed some of the children's channels (Disney, Nickjr....) disappearing and then reappearing 10 minutes later. It's been happening for a few days now. Any connection?

Hehe I'm not in a cable area...well, the cabinet is at the end of my street and they refuse to lay a cable down the road. So my money goes elsewhere!!

Not happy about it, but that's the way it goes.

(I'd only want it for the 10mb broadband)
