When will they fix On Demand?

Seeing as Virgin Media are using On Demand as their main selling point, it might be a good idea if they actually got it to work.

I can occasionally access the menus to see what's supposed to be on, but can't scroll through the menus as it sticks on one page with the 'loading' message.

If I miraculously get to see the list, and something catches my eye, I still can't watch it as I get the On Demand unavailable box. Calls to faults are no help as they just say it's a known problem and they are working on a fix.

Anyone know when we will actually be able to use the service as it's being advertised?

Re: When will they fix On Demand?

Same here.

So frustrating.

If it occasionally works, then it is good.

Surely someone from Virgin has got to sort this out

Re: When will they fix On Demand?

I have to agree.

VOD is becoming more and more of a selling point to have Cable (especially with the Sky Basics channels saying 'Ta, ta!').

And yet, it seems to fail over for me at the weekends. This weekend just gone:

Friday night: Completely unusable, "On Demand not available."

Saturday: More-or-less unusable, but the vast majority of TV Choice content was ASAP!

Sunday: Very slow in the early evening. Took me 10 minutes to get to a point where I could actually watch an Alias episode, and guess what? The episode (Episode 8, I think) just plays back a black screen. Great, just great.

Later that evening it actually became more usable, but having to wait for the last day of the weekend to use Cable's main selling feature isn't good enough. What's the point of Virgin buying content for VOD when we can't watch it when we want to?

I really hope someone high up in Virgin is taking note of this. Quit bragging about Virgin Central and get your VOD service working properly!!! (And yes, I have contacted faults, for all the good that did me).

I won't even mention the lack of HD movies; lack of C4 HD content; lack of History HD content, and me being overcharged for my bill again!

Re: When will they fix On Demand?

Can anyone explain what has happened to BBC on demand. There are currently mo shows on catch-up Tv from BBC at all. On the promo they make a point of mentioning BBC programming so where is it. Only shows currently on my catch-up service are channel 4 shows.

Also when will there be parity across the two formats. Ex-telewest appears to have twice the cotent of ex-NTHell.

Should I not be paying less than ex-Telewest as I am recieving a far inferior service.

Re: When will they fix On Demand?

Yes, when it does work it is brilliant. Just so erratic.

Just spent another 45 mins wasting my time with Virgin CS, the overseas CS.

Nice but don't know much.

Asked to be put through to a V+ specailsit. Woul;dn't do.

Although finally, they did admit that there are ongoing problems with OD.

The outcome? Being escalated to second line.

When will they get back to me? After 4 days!! By then will be 7 days without - unless it magically comes back aagin.

Also have diffrent problem with another STB - engineer call out is again 4 days!!

Service is none too good......

Does this mean you actually have BBC on catch-up. I have nothing from BBC

Re: When will they fix On Demand?

Has there been a bug fix in the Manchester area? I tried VOD and the red button on Virgin Central when I got up early this am, and both are working correctly, this is the first time the red button has ever worked on VC.
Last night I noticed the blue online light went from solid to flashing a few times, may not be connected (pardon the pun) but....
