So it's a goodwill thing basically.

Its a goodwill thing where is that sick bowl?
VM would be screwed if it went to court imo.

Can you see in reality VM pressing that suicide button?
Ok lets say I have been heavily discounted under NTL.
I call up to cancel the tv due to the loss of sky 1 etc;
The cs responds, " I see that you are on a discount of £x per month, we are going to have to take that discount from your account if you cancel the tv "
As vickie pollard would say " wotever "

But I'm not saying whether it's fair or not. Personally In my opinion, it's a reasonable clause - you seem to think that everything conspires against you!

I do not think that everything conspires against me at all, unlike mr branson
But at the same time people should not swallow a contract hook line and sinker as some on here obviously do

Re: I hate Virgin Media, how do I quit?
Doesn't anyone know that Lost will be broadcast on Virgin Central?
Theres little to miss, just be patient and all will be ok!
I love the Simpsons, and missing one new episode on a Sunday is no big loss, you can still view on Channel 4.

I liked watching Morse on ITV, but I wasn't distraught when it stopped.

You pay for a service of providing TV channels through a STB to your TV, you get that service.

Re: I hate Virgin Media, how do I quit?
You're paying for a service yes, but with Virgin. The channels that have gone are Sky's, and you would have to pay more if you wanted them. With Virgin, you don't pay for a new box, you don't pay for a technician visit.
If you move to Sky, would you be willing to pay so much, just for a few missing channels, which programmes will be covered on Virgin Central anyway????

£299 plus £10 a month for a Sky HD box, compared to £10 per month (based on XL TV package) with Virgin Media... plus as you say, after the first year, engineer visits and repair costs. So you have to factor in depreciation and replacement of the Sky HD box when working out costs.
