Poor picture quality

Hi
Over the last few days the picture quality on sky channels as been very poor,i have a v+hd box and a samsung box in the bedroom and on both boxes the picture is not very good i.e. colours look bland and there seems to be a bit of ghosting. On the v+box all the other channels are great and look fantastic, but the sky channels look dull in colour.

Thanks 54xhg.

Re: Poor picture quality

I'm having the same problems as 54xhg. All the channels except Sky are good, Sky channels are poor. They are grainy, stuttery and somtimes you see a lot of squares.

Re: Poor picture quality

Hi
Thank god somebody else has noticed this i thought i was going mad,if anybody is watching the rugby league on skysports when they are in the studio, behind eddie hemmings left shoulder you can see square blocks and and also on some crowd shots as well. The sky movie channels seem very dull in colour, but as i have said before all other channels are perfect.

Thanks 54xhg

Not the best. On live feeds the picture can be very poor. Ghosting around players, the picture sort of stuttering and also sometimes a blocky picture as if the bitrate has been turned down

I were thinking it looked like the bitrate had been turned down,do you think sky are sending a crap feed due to the fallout with virgin.

Funny you should say that..... We now have the old Pace box in the kitchen and the picture with that box in the living room was very good, even on football. I connected the Pace box to the plasma in the living room (how we used to have it) and the picture wasn't as good as the new V+ box, so something is going on.

I've noticed it on The Disney Channel - it was awful... pixel city.

Re: Poor picture quality

Disney Channels, Sky Sports, and Sky Movies are all encoded by Virgin themselves. Where are you all located?
