12 month contract broken?
Having just moved to Virgin Media after having sky tv since it started I am upset to find no Sky one and Sports News.
Have VM broken their contract with me? Have spoken to them and was told I will be held to the 12 month contract and therefore will incur termination fees for the remainder of the contract.
Has anyone heard otherwise regarding this?????

Re: 12 month contract broken?
I've left Sky before, and know someone who left ex-ntl: a couple of years back.
Neither got a Termination Charge.
Just a request to pay the final bill and give equipment back (ntl .
Sky didn't even want their equipment back, so I still have it! lol

Considering you buy and therefore own your sky equipment, they don't really have the right to ask for it back anyway...

Re: 12 month contract broken?
They did cover this in the news and apparently the VM contact states that if they alter the TV channels significantly then you are entitled to a reduced price but VM responded that they do not feel that the lack of the Sky channels has altered the line up "significantly".
I bet they don't!!

What? Virgin decided not to pay for a new contract for these channels. That was their decision. Sky decided their price, Virgin decided to say "no thanks".
Even if you think that Sky might have engineered this situation (by price increases) it was still Virgins decision not to pay to renew the contract.

Virgin are releasing customers from contracts (with no penalties) and I just got out of my TV & phone contract.

Re: 12 month contract broken?
they have not broken any contract whatsoever, the contract states they will supply you with cable tv, telephone and broadband, which they do. Get over it ppl its a channel, its not a life line

For you maybe. However for others it might mean more. I know my kids are not happy this evening!
Perhaps you should think before posting such silly statements!

Re: 12 month contract broken?
Why come back NTL:Telewest, Its the same company just a different name.
The rumour thats been going around as the main reason for all this is NTL wernt happy after the telewest merger when they found out sky was charging Telewest a lot less for the channels than NTL.
And Virgin are holding people to contact

Re: 12 month contract broken?
Sometimes you just have to wonder what people did for entertainment before Sky One was invented....... As upsetting as it will be for a lot of kids out there to lose The Simpsons every night I can only hope that their parents use the situation to their advantage and take the opportunity to encourage their kids to watch programming that will inform as well as entertain.... or even better encourage them to go out and play.
