Feeling Stupid
Hi all
Well i'm feeling really stupid tonight as i have had my new Virgin bill and i actually looked at it! normally the bills get glanced and filed away (dumped in a box)
anyway i noticed that virgin to virgin evening calls are not free - i checked my ntl bills and realised ntl were charging me for them from about Sept 06!!! I don't remember being informed of this - did anybody???
it looks like i'll be better off on a package, or maybe go with someone else. I thought my bills were a bit high. I have broadband M and phone and hitting the £70s whereas it had been around £55.
I'm really annoyed with myself for not noticing this, i am usually careful. Was anyone else caught by this? or did i just not notice some info?

Re: Feeling Stupid
Yes NTL removed free NTL-to-NTL local calls after they merged with Telewest. They sent out a flyer with the August bill explaining the price changes.

Re: Feeling Stupid
I'm in the same boat but, actually, I read every one of my bills and I haven't understood a thing for years!! I keep asking customer services to explain my bill which seems to give me a different package every bill. I had been with NTL for tv, telephone and dial up for years. I then swapped to broadband internet and signed up, or so I thought , for the 3 for £30 jobby. They told me I was getting free local weekend and evening calls. I then phoned Customer services for something and the guy said he wanted to put me on free tv and telephone for life. He didn't explain why or what the implications would be. Then I discovered on my next bill that the free local calls no longer existed. I also discovered that this had changed my tv package from base to god knows what which removed living tv etc.
My broadband had also been bumped up to £17.99 but should have been £9.99. I was promised credits and then Virgin Media took over and my next bill showed £96.00 !! with a wad full of credits, a "3p plan, TV L and M broadband package" which means nothing to me and is explained nowhere on the website and I still owe £56.00! What the hell is going on??

the internet should be £18.00 per month, id give CS a call and tell them you want you internet to stay as it is, your TV package should be on the large (used to be the base) your phone should be talk weekend, and there should be a £10.50 credit to make it the 3 for 30.
that should be all thats on your bill excuse call charges and any other extras you may have

Re: Feeling Stupid
I don't have a package at the moment just broadband at £25 and phone line plus call waiting - tv is sky which i would be reluctant to change after seeing what my parents have got or rather havent got
I dont use the phone much but it was ideal with ntl to start as my parents changed to ntl at the same time but i got so used to the free calls then had a shock to see my bills. I've worked it out and i think the free evening and weekend calls at about £16 would be my best at least i would know exactly how much my bill is going to be every month
the world is getting more expensive to live in every single day or at least Britain is!
