V+ Installed Today

My V+ box was installed today (Manchester, Bromley, ex-NTL, ex-C&W).

Installation took less than 15 minutes. As yet I've only played with the "standard" box features, but it's much faster even than my Samsung was and the remote is much more responsive.

Spoke to a lady at Belshill to upgrade the rest of my package to the VIP pack (broadband was done two weeks ago) and that's all been done now too.

No problems at all so far.

Re: V+ Installed Today

I'd give it til 1pm, I am sure most appointments are 8-1 and 1-6 these days.

My installer had five V+ boxes to do in the morning stint alone. Mine was quick mainly because it worked straight off & he didn't have to show me how to use it, I am happy to learn that myself, but some of them are more tricky to get going apparently.

Well worth it though...extremely well worth it. I can hardly believe this is ntl (as was).

Re: V+ Installed Today

Mine's completely brilliant...I've even got the HD working now too.

Everything works fine, including VOD. And it's quite quick to change channel as well.

Very slick and professional, and what cable TV should have been capable of MANY years ago.

I'm well impressed to be honest.

The problem looks like the card, its not paired thats all it says in the system info window. I thought thay had to do that before thay left. now ive got to look at just the FREE channels BBC1,2,3,4,ITV1,2 And 4 5 thats all i get till thay come and fix it

Re: V+ Installed Today

The engineer who installed my v+ box was really clued up he had a small laptop with him which paired the card to the box and he also made sure that the v+services and vod were working before he left and made sure i was ok with the features.
After reading some of the horror stories on this site i don`t think i would have let him out of the door if it wasn`t working properly!!

Re: V+ Installed Today

Hi Guys,

I have got mine since last thursday and it s great so far, BBC HD looks fantastic! However, I called them 3 times already as the online light is still flashing and still no VOD. Everytime I call they say it will be sorted in 24 ours max! I don't know what to do next... Its just that nothing is happening when I call.
Any advices?

I had exactly the same problem. Took 7 days to sort out. My box wasn't even listed on their system and no one I spoke to could add it.

It's all working great now. Even the terrible remote lag seems to have gone.

It's no fun is it, looking at all those greyed out channels in the EPG

I have a Samsung box too and that seemed to confuse everyone. When ever you phone CS always remember to point out you have two boxes.

Have u tried the usual unplug and reboot to see if that helps?

Just a tip that might be usefull. If you find a recording fails, or it works then fails, or fails to delete do a reformat.
I had problems at first and nothing seemd to sort it out till i formatted the drive. Been perfect since (touch wood)
