Virgin Media's new 'Very Impressive Package' now includes Sky Sports channels for free. The VIP service is aimed at consumers who want the best of everything and includes*: - Over 120 channels of digital TV
- A V+ personal video recorder and additional set-top box
- Sky Sports and Sky Movies premium channels
- Super-fast, 10Mb broadband with unlimited downloads and enhanced security features
- A phone line with unlimited calls to UK landline numbers all day, every day, plus reduced rates to international numbers and 25% off calls to mobiles
- Option to add any handset in the Virgin Mobile range including the latest Lobster 700, which lets you watch TV on your mobile, plus 500 minutes and 1,000 texts per month
Like all Virgin Media's digital TV subscribers, VIP customers also get access to one of Europe's largest and most advanced TV-on-demand libraries, containing over 500 movies and thousands of hours of TV programmes including Lost, Desperate Housewives, Little Britain, Planet Earth, The Sopranos, Entourage, Grey's Anatomy, Alias and CSI: Miami, as well as highlights from the previous week's schedules.
The all-singing, all-dancing package costs £85 per month, representing a saving of over £400 per year on the standard charges for the company's flagship services.

I don't understand.
Wasn't Sky Sports always part of the VIP package then?

Re: Free Sky Sports for Virgin Media VIPs
That is what I'm not understanding. From day one, the VIP included all movies and sports.
But, today there is a press release saying Sky Sports is now free with the VIP package.
I have a horrible feeling about my next bill.

Re: Free Sky Sports for Virgin Media VIPs
Here, they are saying that both sports and movies are free. As far as I am aware (and I certainly hope so) both sports and movies were always included within the VIP package, hence the idea of "getting the lot".
I think this is simply a new way of marketing the same product.
(Notice the "Pacakge" is so impressive they can't even spell it correctly )

Re: Free Sky Sports for Virgin Media VIPs
I read it as just another way of trying to get a positive headline on top of the 'cheaper than sky' 'news' the other day. Next week they will probably issue one about how VIP customers will be getting 10Mb broadband. Just a case of how much mileage they can get out of it.

"* Sky Sports & Movies premium channel"
This is a bit unclear. 'channel'? I really do hope VIP always has included all Sky movies and sports premium channels. Hopefully, we can get some clarification from someone in the know.

How come there is so much confussion on these boards. Its not hard to understand that the VIP package included Sky sports from day one, that is the whole point in the package and that is why it is stated on the website and that is why you rang up to order it. Like people have said its just a markerting ploy. Im 100% certain that Sky sports came with the VIP package from day one and i am no way connected to Virgin Media or any other thing you can think off.
