Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
To be fair - Vidic took a dive, Lille should be in front.

HAHA Did you see when the Lille players were about to surrender (insert your own French joke here) Neville came over to get them back on and Fergie had a right go at him.

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
They should get banned for that, an absoloute disgrace! They obvioulsy don't know the rules of football. Caused fans to be violent and i bet Uefa do nothing as usual which will probably happen with the crowd problems also. Vidic was pushed, why would he dive when the balls basically on his head with an opposition player behind him?

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
i don't blame Giggs for doing it but FIFA, UEFA should have stopped this ages ago by making ALL free kicks have to wait for the whistle.. problem solved..
veery poor performance though and if we keep playing like we have against Charlton, Reading and Lille then we won't win the league

Have to disagree, taking up time to prepare a wall and generally trying to obstruct/disrupt the free kick is giving the advantage back to the offending side, the attacking side should be given every opportunity to punish the offenders.
The pitch was a big factor in the performance, having said that, Old Trafford didn't look that good against Reading.
Jim.

Didn't you see the replay from the opposite side? Vidic clearly did an Arsenal.

Doesn't matter who is doing it, personally I am fed up with all of them and their dirty little tricks, the game is lacking credibility at the moment

Hardly new though is it. Not that I am old enough to remember but you hear reports the Franny Lee and Trevor Francis weren't fans of staying on their feet if there was a slight touch.

The fact that it been going on for years shouldn't be used as an excuse for allowing it to continue, if anything it should be used as a spur to stamp it out

yes i agree i am fed up with it too. when players with the skill and ability of C Ronaldo, Henry, Rivaldo etc have to use tricks like this something is wrong
the problem is ever since players started to do this the game makes more and more money and so nothing will ever be done
i've said before the only way to stop it is to have a weekend where no one goes to ANY games and that way they loose money and are forced into action
