Unhappy Blocked IP?

At the end of December I bought a web hosting package from Network Solutions. Everything was fine for the first couple of weeks but now I can't access it from my home. I can access it from anywhere else, just not where I live. I haven't found any other blocked websites, just my one. I can even access my Dad's website which uses the same host company. Web browsing is blocked, as is FTP access. And it makes no difference if I use the domain name or IP address directly, I still get "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".

At home I have a Surfboard cable modem from Blueyonder, Belkin wireless router, laptop PC. I've tried the laptop round a mate's house and it works fine (so problem is not with laptop). I also know its not my site being down coincidentally when I'm home because I *can* see it via a third-party proxy (albeit very slowly).

When calling tech support I've been told to "change the browser cookie settings", "uninstall the PC's antivirus and firewall software", and "the problem must be with the host". I've even tried providing traceroutes to tech support and, comparing my route to that of my Dad's site, was told that if the problem is not on a Blueyonder machine there's nothing they can do about it (what, no fault resolution process with their suppliers?).

The web host denies any problems at their end.

Looking at the modem log I'm currently getting one "Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received - T3 time-out" a day. Looking at the router log I get quite a few "Blocked by DoS protection" messages, mostly with IP 10.93.128.1, but not much else. As near as I can tell I'm not using a web cache, so I don't think the problem is there.

Final details: I have cable TV but it still seems fine. I'm located near Uxbridge. This problem affects other PCs on the LAN. And as requested in the "Read Before You Post - Support Requests" thread:

Tracing route to www.bbc.net.uk [212.58.224.81] over a maximum of 30 hops:

Anyone got any ideas?

Re: Blocked IP?

Maybe your hosts are saying it's not their fault as they don't want to fix it?

You'll notice that one of the last hops has no IP address. This is because there appears to be a firewall blocking ICMP (ping) packets. However, I don't think this is the problem because ... look at this nearly identical but not quite trace:

205.178.152.4 w2k3-web4.prod.netsolhost.com Canada

This is to my Dad's site at the same host. It *does* work. (I used VisualTrace to get these traces, TraceRT on XP just times out after 64.58.66.230.) VisualTrace also reports no HTTP server running (port is closed) and no FTP server running (port is closed) on my site. Yet when I run VisualTrace from their website to mine I get that its running IIS6 on port 80 and FTP on port 21.

I take it that is using your laptop?

Can you access all the facilities on your site from elsewhere?

If you can do the the above using your laptop I rules out the host and your laptop.
Can you access all the facilities using your dads PC?

Re: Blocked IP?

Just to clarify the last bit: my Dad is in Canada. So when I want to update my website I unload the changes to a holding area on his website, then Skype him and he transfers them across.
