Re: V+ Help

Tried that all they could suggest was sending an engineer, but I have a feeling it will be a waisted trip as I think it's going to be that VM haven't updated my account correctly .... so looking to save an engineers time and mine if the solution is a phoe call

Re: V+ Help

Sounds like you haven't been activated correctly. Is there a 4 digit error message at the end of the message (eg 2011)

---------- Post added at 01:48 ---------- Previous post was at 01:47 ----------

Actually, just re-read your message : there is a thread in the V+ section at the top about that error message, I think - relates to CS not activating the right box

Yep, it sounds like the V+ package hasn't been added to your entitlements for the box. Without it, V+ won't function.

Re: V+ Help

The only code is 2001, when I called CS last night they said they had sent the signals and the box was faulty.

They booked an engineers visit for 2day looks like it's going to be a waist of an engineers time and effort then.

If the issue is at the other end

Re: V+ Help

I think its very poor of the engineer to leave without making sure the V+ functions worked! how was he supposed to do a demo for you?

Re: V+ Help

Package hits can take some time to reach the box as I understand it, that's typically why a tech can't always stay to give a technology demo.

Cool Re: V+ Help

Same problem for me, engineer came out installed the box checked the channels then left.... no V+ service. Called 151 the usual, turn off the box, we will send a signal.....blah....blah....blah!!!!!!

Most worrying about the whole thing was as follows, as I answered the door the following happened:

1) The first thing the engineer said was he knew nothing about the box, had only limited training on it and I would need to read the manual to find out how to work it.

2) He passed me a small Coke bottle and asked if I could fill it with water as his dog had been in the back of the van all day and needed a drink.

3) Could he go for a pee!!! (the engineer not the dog )

Then he put he box in, plugged it in then went outside where he chatted to one of his mates for 10 mins, came back in flicked around a couple of channels and said bye bye.

To be fair to him he did call me later after I called 151 and said this was a hit problem and it was the other end that had not activated the package properly. He gave me his mob No and said if the the V+ wasn't working in the morning to give him a call as he would be in the area and he would come round, not sure what he is actually going to do when he comes round (possibly use the toilet again )

Have to wait and see what tomorrow brings I suppose

Re: V+ Help

These faults are all down to the correct packages being attached to the smart card. An engineer cannot fix this. It can only be done by CS.

Re: V+ Help

Had a long chat with faults dept last night and it seems the card and the box are not paired together properly. I was assured this would be done last night but here we are Saturday morning and still nothing. Looks like a more forceful call this morning will be required

Re: V+ Help

To everyone with error 2001 after install of their V+ box... have you a 2nd STB as well?

If yes, then the problem is CS sending the code whilst the other STB is switched on as well, so the V+ doesn't receive it!

When you phone CS, ask for Swansea V+ support team (took me 5 diverts to get to the correct team). Switch off the other STB, yes pull the plug. Give CS the card number from the V+ box to ensure they are sending the signal to the correct box.

It will work, you then have to reboot and will know it's worked because you get "Live TV" appearing on the display of the V+ box.

Again, switch off the other STB. If you only have the V+, then apologies and good luck
