just few qustions, cant find any info here?

Ok im a new member and i would like a few questions answered please.

i only recently signed up for the NTL 3 for £30 service with a samsung dtv box.

I now hear about the new "virgin media" company that has taken over. Will i be recieving a new tv/internet modem at all?

My "On demand" never worked, will the new one work for me if i dont change the box?

i recently got a new HDTV, if i get a new box will is be a hdtv box or will i have to pay extra?

Please dont hate me if this has been posted elsewhere, i have done a forum search and cant find anything

its not that any company has taken over, NTL and telewest have been one company for a while, its just a re brand.

the V+ box is extra, but you should get everything else as planned.

As I understand it, you need to subscribe to the V+ (TV drive) service to get HD TV, when it arrives. That is an additional package to the 3 for £30.00 offer you have.

Your VOD should be working on the Samsung box. If it isn't you need to be complaining to faults.

The rebrand to virgin media is exactly that a rebrand. Essentially your services don't change unless you want them to, they're just calling the packages by slightly different names.

If your VoD is not working then you need to ring faults free on 151

You can upgrade or downgrade your services at any time.

If you want to utilise your new HD TV you can upgrade your samsung box for the V+ which has limited HD content at the moment but the box is also a personal video recorder allowing you to store up to 80 hours of standard definition tv on its hard drive or 20 hours of high definition, it also has the ability to record 2 different channels at the same time while watching a 3rd.

The cost of the box if you are on the tv package size M or L is an additional £15 per month, if you are on the XL package the cost is £10 per month.

The installation charge is £75 but if you keep your existing samsung box and have that installed in another room there is no charge for installation and keeping the samsung box costs an additional £5 a month (normal price £15)

That assumes 2 things:

1) They'll actually decide to answer the phone

2) If they do, then the person on the other end of the line will know what you're talking about.

I must have made a dozen calls to customer services since it became Virgin Media (that is, yesterday). Of those calls, only one was answered within 10 minutes. And when it was, the guy on the other end of the line had never heard of the "VIP" package that I wanted to order.

So don't waste your time.

Re: just few qustions, cant find any info here?

I to am confused(might be my age) But as ntl customer, are my packages changing and if they are what to and for how much? At the moment i have 4mbs broadband,talk24 unlimited phone and the family package + sports channels.
All the top end packages seem to come with mobile, which i dont want. Any clarification would be very welcome.
