HDMI picture blue/black/unreadable

Just had my V+ installed but somewhat foolishly let the installer go before checking the HDMI connection worked.

I have tried two different HDMI cables, and two different HDMI sockets on my TV, but each time I select High Def HDMI in the V+ settings screen, and change the input on my TV, the HDMI picture is completely unviewable, and is in very fuzzy blue/black - therefore I do not accept the picture and it automatically reverts to SCART RGB after a few seconds.

Anyone else had this problem or able to offer a workround ?

Also got a problem with the uninitialised PIN - I try to access the relevant menu to enter the default 1234 but it will not allow me to do this. A check on the Tech Info screen confirms 'uninitialised PIN' - is there a home-based workround for this ?

I have the silver TV Drive box, by the way, plus the V+ EPG

Edit - Have rung Faults re the PIN issue, they will send a hit to the box, so 0000 in 5 mins to an hour

Edit Sorted the HDMI problem with a reboot

Re: HDMI picture blue/black/unreadable

I dont have one of these boxes, but do you need to select the output of the box to HDMI, rather than scart?

Re: HDMI picture blue/black/unreadable

Initially it needs to be set up via SCART for the installer to do their business - you then change it to HDMI, it advises you it will test your screen, switch your TV to the relevant HDMI input and if you can see the picture okay (I couldn't first time around) press OK. Job done. You can remove the SCART afterwards, or just keep it in to save crawling around the back if something changes.

If you don't press OK because, as in my case, you can't see the picture the V+HD resets to SCART after about 15 secs or so.
