Nope. I've had the STB, broadband and phone since I bought my house, and prior to that had the same at my folks place (all additional to their stuff).
Took no time at all to get through either...no waiting in a queue or anything.

You can keep BB through the STB if you like... cause your existing customer.

To be honest, I'm quite happy to be getting a Cable Modem, I wanted it done that way in the first place, but it got done through the STB and I just left it.

AFAIK, I think they've decided to let existing customers keep broadband through their STB. New customers will have to have a SACM though.

Re: PVR release dates
Yup.
I called them and they confirmed that information last week, as well as when I had V+ installed, that's how we did things.
As seen as I had an RJ45 lead lying about that was long enough to go from my Bedroom to the Living Room, I shoved it into me wireless Modem so I could continue to use the PDA, and now, instead of getting a PC, might as well get another Lappy, although... My DL DVD RW won't like the sound of that.
Still, if there is a way to possibly use that externally, I will. If not, then I will sell it.

Re: PVR release dates
Just ordered the VIP package and my V+ install cannot be done before 03/03. Disappointing.
That's for a KT13 postcode on Bromley (ex C&W)

Re: PVR release dates
Booked for 3 Feb 08:00 - 1300 CANCELLED
Re-Booked for 9th Feb 0800 - 1300
Installer turned up 10:30
Finished 11:30
Top guy he was, it was his first V+ install so asked me how to show him how to use it seeing as though I had a sky+ box sitting there he guessed I would know.
No issues with the install at all, programs all appeared within 10 mins and more importantly are still there lol.
Went out last night set it up to record a few proggys to test it and they all recorded fine. Just need some nice HD content now
Well done NTL / VM.

Re: PVR release dates
Phoned Friday (9th) expecting to be told several weeks wait, and instead get told our area will be ready on the 15th for install (BH area code) and would I like an install on that day! Also sending the SACM to be installed that day as well. Would have been happy keeping it with the STB as we're not moving that one, but hey - why not - maybe I can set up something wireless now for OH's laptop?
Just waiting to see if it will all come through.

Re: PVR release dates
I have just called to confirm that my appointment for Friday is still booked.
I got through to a CS Agent after about 2 rings, which was a really nice surprise , not the usual 15 minutes of terrible hold music ...
oh and my appointment is still booked for Friday...
This Virgin Media bunch may just turn out to be quite good
