Re: Virgin Media Vip Pack - internet gossip?

Here is a personal bunch of Research I did, compairing against what I currently have:

For £85, you get:

Talk Unlimited (free calls to 01 and 02 numbers day or night, week or weekend, as long as you hang up and redial at 59 minutes.) Usually £25.

Talk International (a discount of original costs, for example, a call to the USA would cost 10p per minute without this add-on, but will cost 2p per minute with it. A call to Germany usually costs 23p per minute but will cost 2p with this add-on. Note: Not all countries are 2p. go to the official website for the full details.) Usually £1.50.

Talk Mobile (offers a discount of approx 39% off normal charges to Mobiles. Calls work out at 10p per min to all standard networks ex. 3 Network.) Usually £1.50.

10 MB/XL Broadband. Usually £35 (£27 new customer offer.)

XL TV w/ Sports + Movies. Usually £44.

V+ HD. Usually £10.

Multiroom. Usually £5.

For some its good, for others, such as me, its not.

I call more mobiles than Landlines, you never get 10MB even though that's the maximum, you probably get 2MB, and, of course, you still have a credit limit for your PPV Movies and Sport, which, by Default is set at £100.

You also pay for Itemised Billing, and None Direct Debit charge is now £5.

Re: Virgin Media Vip Pack - internet gossip?

Ive seen some people saying that they pa in arrears, i dont know anything about it, but i think that some people are billed in arrears, so the bill they get on Febuardy the 1st is for Jan 1st -> feb 1st where as new clients pay in advance, so the bill they get on feb 1st is for feb 1st to March 1st, which means that our balance at the start of the month is actually -£120, so if theres a credit limit of £100, you can probably spend £220 a month on PPV does that make sense or sound possiable?

Are you really going to use £100 a month on PPV events, which would bring your final monthly bill to £220 p/m?

Re: Virgin Media Vip Pack - internet gossip?

Hope I've done the right thing here....

Previously I had:

4mb on Cable modem
Family pack TV with one extra box
Phone on 5p plan

This was costing in the region of £70.
I am due a TV drive on 24th Feb which will add £10 a month to this.

So I've just changed to the VIP standard!

Broadband is already testing quite well:

1st 512K took 531 ms = 964.2 KB/sec, approx 7945 Kbps, 7.76 Mbps
2nd 512K took 532 ms = 962.4 KB/sec, approx 7930 Kbps, 7.74 Mbps
3rd 512K took 578 ms = 885.8 KB/sec, approx 7299 Kbps, 7.13 Mbps
4th 512K took 578 ms = 885.8 KB/sec, approx 7299 Kbps, 7.13 Mbps

Overall Average Speed = approx 7618 Kbps, 7.44 Mbps

---------- Post added at 19:57 ---------- Previous post was at 19:48 ----------

Slight hiccup....my pending TV Drive install has "locked" the non-broadband parts of the account, so no discounts can be put on until after then. Therefore we're going to make the rest of the changes then...

No great hassles, it's only another couple of weeks.

Billing works the same as any company, you always pay the line rental and TV charges for the month in advance and the call charges, PPV charges the month following purchase.
