Mute button not working?

I've got a Samsung, and just noticed that the mute button doesn't work?
It puts the mute symbol on the screen but the volume remains the same.
It's a Samsung box by the way.
The volume controls work no problem.
I have tried rebooting the STB to see if that makes any difference - it doesn't.

It's not show-stoppingly bad, but I just wondered if anyone else had a similar problem, and if anyone has any ideas?

Re: Mute button not working?

Make sure you've got the TV connected to the TV SCART socket on the STB.

my mute button has never worked, even on the old boxes. I've no idea why. the tv remote is usually near to hand anyway!

Re: Mute button not working?

The mute only works on the TV Scart socket. It does not affect the VCR Scart or the RF connection.

I did check that - even swapped them round in case my eyesight is failing, and same again. I'll try tonight and look properly again.

True - it's no big deal, but I just wondered why...
