Phone ntl and advised that your father has passed away. They will either arrange to have the name changed on the account or have it disconnected and will sort out any billing issues for you. Sorry to hear of your loss.

Re: My dad died Last Monday, the bill is too big?

I'm really sorry to hear about your Dad passing away Mart.

The prices on NTL as from February are shown here:
http://www.whycable.co.uk/pricechanges/ntl/

There is a package price for TU, 4MB internet, and Family pack which shows the cost as £49.99. You'll need to check on the bill if you are on a package value pack price, and if not, speak to Customer Service and see if you can be changed over.

There may be extras - phone calls to numbers not included in Talk Unlimited, Video on Demand movies, and any additional subscription channels that may be included.

I'm sure someone will advise you about the requirements when speaking to Customer Service, as your name won't be on the account, and you will need to give the password.

Re: My dad died Last Monday, the bill is too big?

You shouldn't need it Ntl should have a department that deal with deaths (as all companies should, including the banks (who are generally quite good over this sort of thing surprisingly!)).

They may want a copy of the death certificate but once they have that they should deal with it pretty quickly

Re: My dad died Last Monday, the bill is too big?

First of all, sorry to hear of your loss. Contact ntl first thing in the morning (I think they may be closed now) and tell them of the situation. As a few have said they, as most companies do, will have a procedure for dealing with this sort of thing. You may have to give a few details over the phone. I don't think the password is essential if you can provide most of the other details. It may be found on the original documents that were produced when the subscription was carried out (Mine was but I'm on TW).

Hope things get sorted.

sorry to hear about your dad markt...ring customer care..and we can transfer the account into your mums or another relative who lives there name. Once thats done as been mentioned look into what is being charged for...value packs are really good for reducing the price.
