You must be a United as it is like tumbleweed drifting with excuses or little digs for when they lose.

What's going on here? You've posted more this week, than any other season since CF/nthellworld started!
At least we stick our heads above the parapet and accept the flak when we lose, unlike some who go into hiding...

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
ok it was only Wycombe last night but I was quite impressed with Sheva.. player with a bit more pace and giving him balls to run onto seemed to suit him better
with a game against Forest at the weekend he should be able to build on that and have confidence for the next league game

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
Shev is fast becoming the Andy Cole of the 21st centuary - he couldn't hit a cow's @rse with a banjo and spawned new footballing terms, such as "He just Cole'd it over the bar".
They always said about Cole he was guaranteed to score the last goal in a 4-nil win.
What was the score last night?

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
Is that Andy Cole the same Andy Cole who is number 2 in all time premiership goal scoring?

Yeah but when he joined United it took him ages to get going.

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
Nah that was the season after he joined.
He knocked plenty in when he signed in Jan the season before, including 5 when we beat Ipswich 9-0
Yorke and Cole in 99 season doubt there has been a better partnership

That's because Sir Alex signed probably the best natural goalscorer in the league and tried to turn him into a link up player as well which wasn't his game. Fair play trying to improve that and make him into a better player but not at the detriment of the attributes you sign him for.

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
that seems to be part of the problem with Sheva he was signed by RA and they never planned how he was going to fit into the team and what he was going to do

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
Cole's partnership with Yorke was legendary but before they played together Cole just could not find the net.

Apart from finishing top scorer in the league the season before Yorke's arrival.
And 55 goals in 70 appearances for the Toon.

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
I always thought Cole was a great player, i will always remember that goal against Spurs, the first step towards the legendary treble, when he just flicked it up for himself and clipped it over the goalies head at the begining of the second half.
