You're right of course but I don't really see what it's got to do with the point in question.

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
I'd say that Chelse aren't the only club financing their transfers through the Chariman/owners own money. You often hear of chairmen dipping their hands into their own pockets, its just that BAtes' ones werent deep enough when he was at chelsea.

Does this guy ever shut up?

Manchester United didn't take their opportunity on Monday when they drew at Newcastle

But if Chelsea had won the past three games that they have drawn they would be level on points with United. I fail to see why he makes comments like these as it will probably work against him and will be used to spur on the United players.

Personally I find it more worrying that clubs are being bought through being mortgaged rather than by handing over hard cash, than I do some Russian spending big for trophies, in fact I would go further and say Chelsea's spending policy's don't really bother me, they can't buy everyone and no one has bought success, sure money helps but you still have to put the hard work in look at Leeds for example.

Now that is what bothers me about Chelsea, the arrogance and nonsense of Mourinho and Kenyon

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
not that i want to defend him but the reason there are so many quotes from Mourinho and Fergie etc is to do with both clubs having TV stations.. they have to put something on there that's why both clubs have so many soundbites in the press each day

OK....and back to the original point, Jose is moaning about an issue he had a major hand in creating.

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
here's something worth talking about
Ronaldo's agent said he offered him to Barca but they turned the offer down.. surely that should be enough to get the agent banned as he is under contract to Man U and any contact needs to be done through the club

Grant Holt is OK.
CC seems to prefer bringing him on, and starting with Commons or Harris behind Tyson and Agogo, but Holt is our top scorer.
Also... he keeps trying to farm him off to Brizzle City. Forest accepted 300 for him a while back, Holt turned it down. Rumour is in the sun it's back on, 200 this time.
You would have won anyway, but not 5-0. QPR fans have a high opinion of Mr Friend too, if you look on their rivals site.

It's happened again, does anyone actually pay to own a football club anymore?
Liverpool will not have a big transfer kitty when the Dubai takeover goes through as the club will be mortgaged for £300m. (Daily Express)

Doesn't surprise me in the slightest, I used the term earned in the loosest possible sense, I am sure we'd all like to take out loans to buy something and sell that something at a 15000% profit after having already taken billions out of the same something, wouldn't we

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
I see we have signed Boa Morte, apparently Wright- Phillips and Upson will sign within days and Mascerano is sorting out special dispensation to join Liverpool, you can't knock the new owners/ management for giving it a real go
