As long as the pay is good & possibly overtime is paid, i don't have a problem with long days! ( i might regret saying that!) lol!

No matter what the problem... it'll always be working in a few hours. if its not you'll come back round within 10 minutes.
Remember that and you'll not go wrong.

Good luck RoyalBT
I think one of the best pieces of advice is "Don't panic!" Not before hand, and not when you're in the job and think you've made a hash job of it, or can't answer X question.

Hi, Had the interview this afternoon for Residential installation Engineer....Went well. You were right Bill C, the interview was short but heavy! Handled it well though.... I have to go back later this week for a driving assesment?!?!?! Anyone know what that might consist of??? What i might be in for? If i'm back for a driving assesment, does that mean i did well in my interview?

They will ask you to drive a van over a set route and see how good or bad your driving is. And yes you must have.
What area are you in ?

Great..Really want this job but don't want that to stop me...Does the driving test take long? ...One thing i didn't want to ask in my interview (i was told its not good to ask!?!) is the salary, the interviewer said its actually self employed & the jobs get passed on to you more as you gain more experience...Any idea on the Pay? What section of work do you do with NTL:TW out of interest Bill C?

I am not sure on pay. The test takes about 30 min's.
I am a Business support engineer and planner for NTL Business. I plan the install of fibre services and p2p Ethernet links.

To be honest, i'm more into getting the job at the moment, its something i'm great at & i'd be happy doing. Pay is second on the list!
I would like to see myself in your position in the next few years...
Thanks for all the information guys...It prepared me for my interview today & Its calmed me down knowing a bit more of what i'm in for later this week...
Thank you.
