Mouse clicks

Ok, stupid question time, well it's early hours.

This has been bugging me for a while now, across several computers and OS's

When is a mouse click not a mouse click, by this I mean, if I click on a link, or a toolbar shortcut, or a desktop short cut .... or whatever kind of hyperlink you care to mention, how quick ( or slow ) do I have to be to make the click a valid click and for it to register via the hardware ( click ) and the software ( go to ) If / when I'm in full flow ( or the beer's taken over ) and I click on the 'object' and off it quickly, sometimes I have to go back and do it again ( slower ) I have my set up as point to highlight and single click to open, XP Pro with mouse settings at medium, I'm thinking that it might be the time Windoze takes to register that something has been pointed to never mind clicked on, if this is the case, is there a tweak that will speed the point / register and click process up ???

TIA, and sorry for the essay

I have all the speeds and pointer presission ticked and maxed in there mate, this is something else, I think, it's like I'm clicking and moving the mouse off the selected item to quick and it's not registering, if I go back and click it again slowly, everything's ok

Re: Mouse clicks

I know what you mean. I installed "Navigational sounds" on Firefox for this reason. If it really clicks, then you hear a sound...
