System 32 problem AGAIN!! - Page 2

It happened again this morning..This time my son, who did do a computing A-level, went in and discovered that it was a corrupt boot up section.He wrote another replacement one and got it working...

Well that may not be the technical terms but that's the gist of it from him.

Maybe I'll keep him anyway...

Hmmm. He rewrote the MBR or the boot.ini ?? Wouldn't have thought that myself but hey - eyes on the ground are always better

Ah now you are asking that which I cannot confirm..he never tells me on the principle that I always get confused about these things so why waste his breath.

A corrupt MBR could have been the result of the restarts though and a FIXMBR command would show up as being unusual and rewrite itself
