[Merged] Webcam video recording issues
Got some mad crap going on with my camcorder software.....
I am trying to record a video for my cousin, i have so many compression codecs at my disposal
I am using WebcamXP.Pro
The best compression seems to be Divx 6.2.5 Codec (1Logical CPU)
However after recording i try to play it back and it goes straight to "Pause" in WMP.
I downloaded that Codec thinking it was that thats missing and it did the same, so i tried VLC PLayer and i got no picture, recorded something, sound i think.
I am trying to make about a 10 minute clip and i cant do it with MJPEG which is the next lowest i can find. Windows media Codec 9 etc.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
How do i go about this, i have to have the clip sent before thursday.

Re: Camcorder XP Codec Issue
so your capturing from a camcorder using webcam software?
You can capture from camcorder using better software than that and save it as either raw avi to mess with later or mpeg2

Re: Camcorder XP Codec Issue
Oh Bugger, Sorry guys its off a Webcam using Webcam Software, i guess the tired eyes and brain let me down there.
its NOT Camcorder, just a standered webcam with Webcam XP pro.
Theres no Codec in there for Mpeg2, i can write a list of codecs it will compress if that helps?

Re: Camcorder XP Codec Issue
I have found AMCap to be very useful ( http://noeld.com/programs.asp?cat=video) when "playing around" with webcams.

Webcam video recording issues
I have recorded a AVI from webcam, finally.
What i need to know is.....
Is there anyway i can add text to my clip? kind of like instead of talking through my video i can add text instead as the video plays.
Also i want to remove the first 3 minutes of it.
Any help with this please? I have to send it tonight and i am lost.

Re: Video Experts........
There are some free applications listed here ( http://tv.isg.si/site/?q=node/873), although the link is almost a year old.
You do have WMM 2.1, don't you?

Re: Video Experts........
Nero vision if you have Nero 7.
Has some nice effects and you can cut parts of the movie.

YAMB works with avi so you should be able to use that to cut/join your edits
http://yamb.unite-video.com/
if your going to get into video more than a one off then you should really go and read the
http://www.doom9.org/ message boards, it takes 5 days after registration to start posting but you read it no problem.
