Hilarious. Didn't they also buy the incorrect mail servers at one point too?
Well I don't thankfully.I'm just commenting that this is a new phase of NTL that I haven't experienced before..

I just seem to have had loss of TV,BB and phone on a fairly regular basis lately.I've never known them to be this bad. It's been a bad 6 months in all.

The varnish used to drip out of the transformers in the hot weather and all the plastic connectors became brittle due to the heat. many of those are still in service because they haven't been able to afford to replace them.

Plus they didn't have the correct launch amplifiers in Wales due to cost cutting, and they didn't increase battery backup capacity or air conditioning in hubsites or headends as they added equipment to the system.

you know things are bad when a managers rushes around with a big piece of cardboard waving it frantically in a headend to get some airflow around.

Only in ntl
I still know a few people in Ntl & nothing has changed as far as I can tell, in fact it's probably worse following the last round of engineering staff cuts.

One good thing did come out of the last cuts though, they got rid of one idiot who should of gone years ago.

The guy previously worked for Telewest and was given the push, but not suprisingly lasted about 10 years in ntl (cabletel) until someone from Telewest after the merger got rid of him.

It's strange, I have said many times that if I made a list of the top 10 useless people in senior engineering roles. (corporate functions) The majority still have a job in ntl. They are going slowly, but so many good people have gone before them.
