Re: New PC

I'd personally go for the E6300 machine, as those chips have great overclocking possibilities and are very quick at standard clock speeds.

is it how do you work that out? you dont even know what the gfx is in the second one and id favour a c2d over the D900 series anyday.See if you can pay the extra 20 or 30 quid to upgrade the cpu to the 6400
Find out what graphics are in the second one the 7300 in the first is rubbish

What, you'd get 3.4GHz out of it?

The first machine has the better specs. Full stop.

Re: New PC

That means nothing you getting pulled in. The e6300 will overclock very easily and be able to easily out perform the D945 even at stock

Re: New PC

Hey people,

Would the FSB make any differance to the performance?? Sorry if it's a silly question but I have no idea.

Cheers

im sorry but I cant believe you posted this. Surely you realise the megahertz war is over. High clock does not mean faster anymore. My conroe E6600 clocks in at 2.4 gig stock and will urinate on the P945 or any other cpu other than the higher clocked conroes

Don't get fooled by the clock speeds, the E6300 is the latest technology and can out performs older CPU's that have higher clock speeds.

Thats also untrue as the C2D's multimedia is one of its strongest points

Er.. right, okay. What does the OP plan to do with his system? Probably reading his emails, listening to MP3s and MSNing his mates. Processing power probably isn't so important either way, nor graphics...

(Although graphic is something to look at for Vista, obviously.)
