Ok turn off JavaScript and a lot of sites won't work correctly.
Use Opera instead.

The real proof of the pudding, of course, will be in how quickly the open source community can fix the problem.

Well I'm fine, I'm using NoScript so the only those sites that need it and I trust will allow scripts to run. Any other sites have scripts and java applets blocked.

Phew, lucky the problem is in FireFox, then.

No doubt they will, rather than having to wait at least a month with IE

The article appears to suggest that due to the nature of the bug, the Javascript engine will need to be heavily patched or re-written. I'd be surpised if this was a quick job.

Re: Firefox - 'Seriously flawed'

Only just read the article, I'd personally take what they're saying with a pinch of salt as they're claiming they've uncovered over 30 bugs, but then refusing to disclose any of them. If its true what they're saying, its very unethical. But the bigger point is this: $500 per flaw reported = $15,000; not an inconsiderable sum of money that they're deciding to pass on, which begs the question as to whether or not they're bluffing about that.

A HACKER who told the Toorcon conference that Firefox was a complete security mess and couldn't be fixed has admitted that he made it all up.

Mischa Spiegelmock claimed that there was a serious Javascript bug in the decade old code which made it a doddle to cause stack overflows.
LOL!!!! Yeah, i think i'll stick with the trusty old fox... So secure hackers need to make up bugs!
