Adding TV Channels - Why so long?

Phoned customer services this afternoon from work, asked them to add Sky Sports, they say "OK, should be on your STB after an hour or so."

5 hours later, I get home. Guess what? No Sky Sports Channels.

Phoned again. Asked for Sky Sports again. Told "it will take an hour or so again." 90 minutes hours later, and guess what? No Sky Sports channels.

Phoned again. Asked for Sky Sports again. Now told "it will take around 24 hours." Huh?!??

I know that NTL weren't this slow in the past to add TV channels, so what's changed?

Re: Adding TV Channels - Why so long?

As far as I know it was always a case of "could take up to 24 hours" but rarely did.

Re: Adding TV Channels - Why so long?

I know this - they're bloody quick at taking channels away. Asked them to remove Sky Sports a while ago and by the time I'd put the phone down it was done.

I tried, really tried to resist the lure of Premiership footy, but I am weak, and I need my Sky Sports.

I'm just glad that there's no big games on tonight, otherwise I would be a bit miffied.

Re: Adding TV Channels - Why so long?

Got home tonight. No Sky Sports.

Phoned up and spoke to a chap who added the channels in 10 minutes (thank you. )

So much for '24 hours'.
