well neither of them are wingers though so we are going to be very narrow for the next few weeks.. just shows how small our squad is

Did anyone notice if the scorer of Celtic's first goal had his full name on the back of his shirt.

Good result for Derry City, 0-0 against PSG. Derry hit the bar in the first half and should have had a pen in the second.

Yeah... Not amazing game, but good solid performance anyway. One goal up is still an advantage.
Annoyed me watching the game at 75% of its size. Anyone else have that? It wasn't letterboxed, it had black areas along all 4 sides of the screen, like it had been re-sized to 75% in proportion.

How good was Huddlestone anyway? He was amazing. Lots of great young players, like King, Lennon, Huddlestone... Lennon has been amazing for England, as has King, but Huddlestone is a good England prospect for the future.

It's a shame about the final result, but it was a well taken goal by Kidderminster.
Oh and Courtney Pitt was excellent tonight, a well deserved MOM

I see Jimmy Quinn is your new manager.

ARSENAL MAKE HISTORY WITH WORLD XI
Arsenal are believed to have made Champions League history when they fielded a team comprised of players from 11 different countries on Wednesday night against Hamburg.
Although the Gunners started the match with two Ivorians, Emmanuel Eboue and Kolo Toure, in their starting line-up, the withdrawal of the crocked Toure after 29 minutes resulted in a - possibly unique - WorldXI team.
Until the introduction of Julio Baptista and Mathieu Flamini as substitutes, the Arsenal team was: Jens Lehmann (Germany); Emmanuel Eboue (Ivory Coast), Johan Djourou (Switzerland), Justin Hoyte (England), William Gallas (France); Tomas Rosicky (Czech Republic), Gilberto (Brazil), Cesc Fabregas (Spain), Alexander Hleb (Belarus); Emmanuel Adebayor (Togo), Robin van Persie (Holland).
While there's no official confirmation as yet from UEFA's statisticians, it is believed that the WorldXI is without precedent in European competition.

Yep, he should be quite a good appointment
He has all the right credentials, plus I understand he is a hard task master.
I am off up the Abbey again this afternoon, the U's are playing Stevenage, but Quinn does not actually take charge until Monday.
He hasn't appointed an assistant as yet, I am not sure who he usually uses.

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
I feel sorry for Wrexham, letting in 10 goals in less than a week, although, at least they got a couple back, today.
Grimsby cut it fine with 2 goals in the 90th minute, but will be grateful for the win

I really don't like Saturday's like today, what was three or four Premiership matches, I know we should be grateful for all the dump trucks of cash tv chucks at the game but it just annoys me, I think there were three 3 o'clock kick off's today

A lot of the matches tomorrow are team who played on Thursday in the UEFA cup, to give them a days rest.
